The Noordoostpolder is a piece of reclaimed land in the sea. The polder is part of Flevoland.
Due to the reclamation of the Noordoostpolder in 1942, the famous island of Urk was connected to the mainland.
Within the Noordoostpolder lies Schokland, recognized as a World Heritage site by UNESCO.
