One of those places where Willem Holleeder regularly went to eat a sandwich. It is an old café located by the river between Amstel Station and Angel Place, the headquarters of the Amsterdam motorcycle club. On August 29, 2002, the Heineken kidnapper lost his temper when his usual breakfast routine was interrupted by a request from a staff member. Would Mr. Holleeder please park his car elsewhere, as it was now blocking the guests on the terrace. The request led to a vulgar shouting match in which Holleeder allegedly threatened the staff of the Omval. "Holleeder blew up like a rocket," one of the staff members later stated to the police. During the hearing, the handling of this case caused considerable irritation for the Heineken kidnapper. "I always parked my car there. So I saw no reason to put it somewhere else. If they had just given me my sandwich, I would have been gone."
