The former NDSM shipyard was once a place where enormous ships were built.
All construction activities were led until 1928 by the famous Amsterdam architect-engineer G.J. Langhout, who worked for Werkspoor, among others, and, together with architect J.F. Staal, designed the Telegraaf building on the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal.
Now it is a cultural domain in development. Many creative companies are establishing themselves on the site, including MTV. There are also theater performances and other large-scale (dance) events organized.
