The Miljoenenlijn / Zuid-Limburgse Stoomtrein Maatschappij

In South Limburg is the well-known railway line 'De Miljoenenlijn', which has been operated since 1995 by the volunteers of the South Limburg Steam Train Company Foundation. The historic steam and diesel trains maintain a fixed timetable on this beautiful railway line, right through the Limburg hills. You can board the train without a reservation at one of the stations along the route, including Valkenburg and Kerkrade, and of course the main station Simpelveld. Simpelveld station has an attractive station restaurant, which breathes the atmosphere of the 20s, a souvenir shop and a museum with a unique collection of railway attributes from times long past. You can also visit the locomotive workshop or one of the manned signal boxes.

The trains run according to a fixed timetable between Valkenburg, Schin op Geul, Wijlre, Eys, Simpelveld, Spekholzerheide and Kerkrade and on the international route from Simpelveld, via Bocholtz to Vetschau.
