Zuidhorn is a village in the municipality of Westerkwartier in the Dutch province of Groningen. The postal area of the village has 8,305 inhabitants and the village itself has 7,200 inhabitants, together with Briltil, which is adjacent to the core, and Noordhorn, located on the other side of the Van Starkenborghkanaal, the total population is 9,965 people. Between 1811 and 2018, Zuidhorn was the main town of the municipality of the same name, which was significantly enlarged in 1990. The central axis of the village is formed by the sand ridge De Gast, where many beautiful villas were built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and which was designated as a protected village view in 2007.
