In this Gelderland residence there is an inhabited atmosphere. The beautiful collection of furniture, silver and porcelain revives the 18th and 19th century grandeur of the interior. But the history of Rosendael goes back to the time when the counts and dukes of Guelders stayed here for more than 200 years. Famous beyond the borders, this castle is also known for its park. As early as the 17th century, Rosendael was an example of refined landscaping: hedges, cabinets, sculptures, garden vases, ponds, waterfalls and fountains. A green sky on aerd, according to poet and statesman Constantijn Huygens. It stayed that way. The current garden jewelry, such as the shell gallery, tricksters and tea dome, were designed by the 18th-century landscape architect Daniel Marot.
