Description

The castle dates from the thirteenth century. The current castle dates from the eighteenth century and was built on the foundations of its medieval predecessor. Over the centuries, the castle has suffered a lot from mine damage.
The castle farm dates from 1690. The baron Van Strijthagen was one of the residents, as was baron De Rose de Lommissen. Painter Aad de Haas and pianist H. Biezen stayed at the castle.
