The town hall of Baarle-Hertog is unique in its kind: it stands right on the border of Belgium and the Netherlands. The Dutch-Belgian border runs very erratically here in Baarle-Hertog and Baarle-Nassau. Hence probably the idea of the building. You can see a line running on the façade and the border is also indicated as a row of flowers and plants in the garden. In the building, the border runs like a white line through the rooms and halls.
