The water tower in Zoetermeer was designed by architect C. Visser from Delft and was built in 1927-1928 for the Stichting Drinkwaterleiding De Tien Gemeenten. The water tower has a height of 48.65 meters and one water reservoir of 500 m³. Around the square around the tower are stones with names and distances to the then thirteen participating municipalities, around the entrance door are the coats of arms of the municipalities, the year of construction and the provincial coat of arms of South Holland.
