The Hieronymus Bosch statue was created in 1929 by the sculptor August Falise. It is made of bronze. During the unveiling, Bosch Hieronymus Bosch was called "le faizeur de Dyables". A drawing from Receuil d'Arras was used as a model. It is assumed that this is a portrait of Hieronymus Bosch.
The statue first stood in the middle of the Markt, west of the place where the reconstruction of the well later stood.
His new place is opposite the house De Kleine Winst, where he was born. The statue will have a new, smaller natural stone pedestal that, according to the municipality, will fit better into the streetscape.
