The Sint-Jacobskerk was built in 1905. The architects of the church were Jan Stuyt and Jos Cuypers. The Sint-Jacobskerk is no longer in use as a religious building. The church now houses the Jheronimus Bosch Art Center. The building is a national monument.
Houses were demolished, creating a square in front of the church. This square would later be named after the Bossche painter Hieronymus Bosch.
