Under the name 'the Chaamse Bossen', Staatsbosbeheer manages a vast nature reserve consisting of the Chaamse Bossen, the Ulvenhoutse forests, the Alphense Bergen, and the Generaalsbossen.
Together they form a stunning combination of ancient forests, marshy grasslands, streams, drifting sand hills, and heath fields with ponds.
Here, roe deer graze and birds of prey fly over the treetops.
Former agricultural plots are being restored to their original state, creating new ponds and swamp areas with open spaces. A beautiful sight!
Running straight through this nature area is the Fietsallee: a kilometers-long cycling path for hours of car-free cycling enjoyment!
