In this square was located the lunchroom Delphi, known as a hangout place for Anne Frank. On June 20, 1943, the small grassy area of the square served as a gathering place for the Jewish residents of the Rivierenbuurt. They were then taken away by trams to the Muiderpoort station to be transferred to Camp Westerbork.
