Description

The 40-metre-high Skyscraper, or the 12-storey house as it is officially called, is centrally located in the Amsterdam Plan Zuid designed by Berlage. This 12-storey residential building marks the end of Vrijheidslaan, where Rooseveltlaan starts on the left and Churchilllaan on the right. The skyscraper shows characteristics of both the Amsterdam School and functionalism. The symmetrical tower has an elevator and staircase in the middle with an apartment on both sides. Materials used are concrete, yellow brick, steel and glass.
