The Zwartenbergse molen is a polder mill from 1889 in the town of Leur, municipality of Etten-Leur. It is owned by the Brabantse Delta Water Board. The mill is a round stone ground sailer, which replaced a burnt-down mill from 1721, which had burned down in 1888. Initially, they wanted to build a steam pumping station, but in that case the fire insurance would pay out a considerably lower amount than if it were replaced by a new wind turbine.
The Zwartenbergse Molen drains the polder De Haagsche Beemden, nowadays on a voluntary basis. In 2006/7 the water board restored the mill internally and externally.
The mill can move up to 80 cubic meters of water per minute.
The Zwartenbergse Molen can be visited every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month from 11.00 - 16.00 and by appointment.
