The Avonturenpark Hellendoorn is a combined amusement park with a water slide park, which is located in the Dutch province of Overijssel, just outside the village of Hellendoorn, about 50 km from the german-Dutch border at Gronau in Westphalia.
The history of the park began in 1936, when the founder Van den Berg first built and opened a tea room with a terrace. In order to attract more visitors, playgrounds and a restaurant were gradually added. This was followed in 1947 by the construction of a labyrinth and in 1956 by the construction of a fairytale garden. In the seventies, other major attractions were added, such as the monorail, a sea lion show, the leaning house "Casa Magnetica" and the raft ride "Jungle Monster". In 1978, the park was renamed "Avonturenpark Hellendoorn".
