In 1829, the construction of the church was put out to tender and awarded to the Gebr. Brouwer from Meppel for a contract sum of f. 7500,-- plus the old church building. Mr. W. van Emst from Zwolle was appointed as the architect. On July 1, 1830, the church was completed and the construction costs were set at f. 7100,--. The church has been rebuilt and modernized several times in the 20th century.
