De Boswinkel provides information about the Amsterdamse Bos. There are activities, changing exhibitions and a shop. Admission is free. De Boswinkel is open Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In the shop of De Boswinkel you can find information about the Forest, maps and walking routes. But also for nature books, organic flower honey, outdoor toys and souvenirs.
There are regular exhibitions in and near De Boswinkel, or elsewhere in the Forest. On the 1st floor of the Boswinkel you can now see the exhibition 'Employed in the Amsterdamse Bos'.
In the context of 75 years of liberation, the Amsterdamse Bos will show the exhibition Employed in the Amsterdamse Bos – Jewish labour camps in and around Amsterdam 1941 – 1944 from 2 September 2021 to 10 July 2022 in the Boswinkel.
The Amsterdamse Bos was built as an unemployed project from the 30s, most people know that. Much less known is that during the Second World War there were special labor camps in the Forest for Jewish men, who were forced to work there. Their tragic history is now being extensively highlighted for the first time.
