On a house and a gate in front of the house is written 'Diepstege'. This is not the right location. The manor house was further back and now only meadows can be seen. Around 1500, the Diepstege manor house was purchased by Squire Adam van de Bergh. In 1744 it came into the possession of Peter Christiaen van Marle, landdrost of the county of Bergh. Het Loo in Kilder was also inhabited by the Van Marle family. Peter Christiaan junior (born 1721 in 's-Heerenberg) died on 4 August 1757 at Diepstege. He has been a 'Monster Commissioner on Vlieland'
