NH Church

In 1598 the first Protestant sermon was held in Zeddam under the direction of Rev. Caspar Sollingius, also pastor in 's-Heerenberg. Not in the Oswaldus church, because that was a ruin, but under a large lime tree. Only after 1604 were activities undertaken to restore the medieval church. On the authority of King Louis Bonaparte, in 1810, when the ecclesiastical property was divided, the church passed back into the hands of the R.K. The design is based on Genesis 2:8-25 and deals with paradise and on Revelation 21:9-22 which describes the new Jerusalem. The designs have been given the title "The Journey". In 2005 the interior of the church was refurbished. The painting above the pulpit revealed a decoration that had been hidden for years under a layer of white paint. A performance from Leviticus 16.
