Milsbeek - Through rain and mud to victory
Operation Veritable marked the beginning of the so-called Rhineland Offensive in February 1945. The Allies wanted to attack the Germans in the flank and possibly quickly advance to Berlin. Due to the onset of thaw, the carefully thought-out plan was completely thrown into disarray. Rain and mud made it virtually impossible to move forward, but victory still prevailed.
