Description

The original documents of the surrender of the German armies are in the municipal archives of Wageningen. It contains all the conditions of the German capitulation and signatures of the negotiators: Prince Bernhard (NL), General Foulkes (Canada) and General Blaskowitz (Germany).
We went to the archive and were allowed to hold the book. The original pen with which the documents were signed is in museum "De Casteelse Poort"

In the town hall there is also a plaque population register. On January 9, 1943, 4 members of the resistance stole the population register from the town hall. This act of resistance saved many lives.
