This window, placed in the Grote Kerk on the Markt and unveiled on 5 May 1987 by Her Majesty Queen Beatrix. It is meant to remember all those who fought, suffered and prayed: Compatriots and Allies, and to pay tribute to all the soldiers, to the merchant navy, the resistance and to all those who fought for our freedom.
The window was made by Jhr. O. van Nispen tot Pannerden.
The window is part of the Grote or St. John the Baptist Church, originally dating from the 12th century but heavily damaged twice in WW II
