The watermill of Laag-Keppel is a flour mill in Laag-Keppel. Since the 14th century, there has been a water mill in the village. The current mill was built in the 19th century and was in operation until 1945. From that year on, an electric motor powered the grinder. In 1968 a plan was made to make the mill, which had insufficient decay due to the canalisation of the Oude IJssel to be able to grind on water power, run again in its original way. For this purpose, the Follega mill, a spinning head mill, was transferred from Friesland to Laag-Keppel. The small spider head mill lowers the water level in the mill chamber by 1.5 meters. This solution does work, but the capacity of this small spider head mill is insufficient to allow the water mill to function optimally.
