Schinnen is a village in the south of Limburg. It was the main town of the municipality of Schinnen, which merged into the municipality of Beekdaelen on January 1, 2019, and had 2,685 inhabitants as of January 1, 2021. Schinnen is known for the syrup from Canisius and the Alfa beer, which is brewed in the hamlet of Thull. In Schinnen, there is also a castle farm, Terborgh Castle. Additionally, Schinnen is known for the first 'bokkenrijders' gang that originated here in the hamlet of Wolfhagen, near Putherberg.
