The village is located on a double weed, which is intersected by the Oldehoofsch canal. Most of the houses are located north of this canal and date mainly from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. These densely spaced brick houses with their associated roofs along the Valgeweg, Aldringaweg and Oosterweg together form the compact old village center. The entire village has been designated as a protected village view.
