Oijen is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. Oijen has over 1,260 inhabitants. Until 1939 it belonged to the municipality of Oijen and Teeffelen and until 2010 to the municipality of Lith. Oijen is located on the Maas.Oijen used to be located in Gelderland, where it belonged to the Land of Maas and Waal. In 1814, the Meuse was designated as the provincial border. It was only then that Oijen became Brabantian.
