Wernhout is a village in the Dutch municipality of Zundert, in the province of North Brabant and has 2,955 inhabitants as of January 1, 2021. The origin of the name Wernhout is not entirely clear. Wood stands for upright forest, but Wern can be a proper name like Waro, but it could also refer to hunting grounds, as in warande.
