Description

Barlo or Barloo is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Gelderland. Barlo enjoys some fame for its Cooperative Implements Association (CWV) and entertainment venue De Loods, which is popular with young people from the surrounding area, and is managed entirely by volunteers. Barlo has 108 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). Barlo is located on the western edge of the East Netherlands plateau, on an old river terrace from the Lower and Middle Pleistocene. The western slopes of this higher area are intersected by a number of old meltwater valleys, which are now present as dry valleys. This has created a sloping landscape.
