Braamt (Low Saxon: Broamp) is a village center in the municipality of Montferland, in the Dutch province of Gelderland, a few kilometers south of the A18 and directly next to the main road from Doetinchem to 's-Heerenberg. The village is located in the former municipality of Bergh. Braamt is a church village that historically belonged as a hamlet to the parish of Zeddam, having grown through the reclamation of heath fields and wasteland in the Zeddammermark. In 1245, the village is mentioned as "Brameth." The name is likely related to bramble growth. In 1949, Braamt was separated from the parish of Zeddam and gained its own church, which was consecrated on November 6 of that year by Msgr. Huurdeman, vicar general of the Diocese of Utrecht. The patron is Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
