The impressive Renswoude castle has a unique design with a dual appearance. The white plastered back gives the building a true country estate look, while the front with its towers resembles a castle more. The castle consists of a main building and two flanking construction houses. All three date back to 1654 and are built in the Dutch classicist style. The castle island is surrounded by a moat that transitions into a pond with banks of a park forest in a landscaped style. From the front facade of the house, a sight line runs through an avenue in the park and continues on the east side of the Dorpsstraat in the grand canal. This extends to the Slaperdijk, a part of the 18th-century defense line, the Grebbelinie.
