During his 'journey through the Netherlands' via Nijmegen and 's-Hertogenbosch to Antwerp, the German visual artist Albrecht Dürer enjoyed the meal in Tilburg with his companions on the morning of 21 November 1520. The bill, according to his notes, amounted to four weisspfennings. He was probably a guest at one of the inns on the Hill, an important stopping place at a junction of roads.
