In the 18th century, many dozens of estates were established in the vicinity of Amsterdam. One of them is Waterland. The summer houses were mainly inhabited during the summer months when the canals in Amsterdam were臭. The Waterland estate consists of a nature reserve of 29 hectares. In 2000, a foundation was established to preserve the mansion built between 1742 and 1766 and designed by Pieter de Swart. This main building with annexes and the parkland have been declared a national monument. It is available as a wedding location, and events can take place there.
