Het Benedensas, sometimes also written as Beneden Sas, is a restored historic lock complex from 1824 (partly also from 1884) that is located near Steenbergen and De Heen.
The lock complex was built to protect the land behind it from high water from the Volkerak, and for shipping to bridge the height difference due to ebb and flow. With the completion of the Philipsdam, there is no longer any ebb and flow. The lock gates offer a view of the Krammer, Volkerak and the Dintelse Gorzen nature reserve. The lock is called Benedensas because it is located on the lower course of the Vliet, in contrast to the Bovensas.
