The Zielhoes is a hospitality venue and former lockkeeper’s house, as well as a former meeting place of the Water Board Noordpolder in Noordpolderzijl in the Dutch province of Groningen.
The Zielhoes was built in 1811 as a residence for the gauger of the Noordpolder. The Noordpolder was established in 1811 through the reclamation of the area north of Warffum and Usquert in the province of Groningen. In 1843, a floor was added to the building that served as a meeting place for the polder administration and from 1856 for the former Water Board Noordpolder. The flat roof had a parapet from which one could observe the mudflats, the islands, and the surrounding area.
