The Moeren consists of coniferous and deciduous forests, interspersed with agricultural lands surrounded by hedgerows. To the west lies the Oude Buisse Heide. To the north lies the Abbey of Maria Toevlucht and the heathland Lange Maten. To the southwest is the nature reserve Wallsteijn. The Moeren is managed by the Nature Monuments Association. There is a blue walking route of 12 km. In den Anker is a catering establishment.
