Description

The Fivelmonde brick factory on the Damsterdiep in Delfzijl is the last authentic brick factory still intact with a zig-zag oven north of the major rivers. At one time there were 17 such brick factories in our country. In addition to preserving the industrial monument, there are thoughts to give the building a meaning as a public attraction. A number of studies have already been carried out for the latter. The (financial) feasibility of this partly depends on the development possibilities of the factory and its immediate surroundings.
