Start and end point of the Westwaardroute is carpooling place Gemeneweg, next to the N11 at the Hazerswoude exit. The route is 4.7km.
Good to know
* The walk is not possible between 15 Mar and 15 June due to the breeding season.
* Part of the walk is unpaved and can be muddy and uneven. Sturdy high, waterproof walking shoes are recommended.
* Along the way you will encounter cattle in the meadows. The farmers appreciate it very much if you walk around the cows or sheep.
* Because the area is quite open, a windless day lends itself best to this route.
Along the way you have a chance to see several birds, including the teal. Teal are small ducks. They live mainly in open areas, with a swampy character. In winter, teal stays in sometimes very large groups in our country. Nature reserve De Wilck is closed when there are many small swans. Info at Staatsbosbeheer
