Description

In the vicinity of the Spookverlaat, storks often scurry around. The Bird Working Group Hazerswoude Rijndijk has erected a pile nest. The female has been breeding there since 1994. She once had another male, but he flew into a car and died. She didn't grieve for too long and found a new partner. Since then, two or three young have been born every year. The parents remain loyal to the nest of poles, but their children go on a trek to the South in winter.
