The Great Pond of Beekhuizen is fed by the Beekhuizensebeek. The pond was once part of the park landscape that J.W.F. Baron Van Spaen created over several decades starting in 1775. A remarkable point of the walk in this part of Beekhuizen is the wide waterfall, a cascade, on the opposite side from where you are standing now. The walking path runs from this point upstream through the spring area of the brook.
