Fort Ronduit is a polygonal fort in Naarden built in the period 1873-1875 on the remnants of an earlier defense work. The fort served to cover the outer dyke land north of the fortress of Naarden and as a reduit, after which it is named.
The fort is located north of the fortress of Naarden and south of what was then the Zuiderzee. In the 17th century, there was already a redoubt at this location to protect the harbor of Naarden, and between 1873-1875 the existing fort was built. Between the fort and the fortress lies a connecting wall so that troops could move unseen by the enemy.
