The church tower of the ribbon village Kortenhoef towers above the trees on the right. The church dates back to the 14th century and is special because it has changed little over the centuries as one of the few village churches in the Netherlands. Only the choir and the spire of the church are from the 17th century. In addition to services of the Reformed community, the church is also frequently used for exhibitions, lectures, and concerts. The church is beautifully situated by the nature reserve and is one of the most painted churches in our country. Among others, the Hague School painter Gabriel painted here. Hence the mill located further on is named 'Gabriel'.
