Fort aan de Klop is a fortification on the river Vecht in Utrecht. The fort was built in 1819. The function of the fort included the protection of the city of Utrecht. It was also part of the New Dutch Water Line.
The fort was built on a special place for the defense of the city of Utrecht in former times. In 1629, an earthen fortification was built on the site, situated in the current Overvecht district, to be able to repel attacks by the Spaniards. In 1787 a redoubt was built to prevent the French army from accessing the Vechtdijk.
