Velperplein is a somewhat oval elongated square in the center of Arnhem, where Musis Sacrum and the Rembrandt Theater are located, among others. The square is situated on the northeastern side of the Arnhem shopping center. Velperplein plays an important role in the flow of car and bus traffic in Arnhem. Between about 1995 and 2005, the square was extensively renovated with new roadways and bicycle/pedestrian paths and/or their relocation. A brand new bus station was also built on the southern side, along with a tunnel entrance to the parking garage there.
