The Berlage House is the former Town Hall of Usquert, built in 1930 following a design by the architect Hendrik Petrus Berlage. It was designed and built on behalf of the then still independent municipality of Usquert in the Dutch province of Groningen. However, Berlage ultimately found the tower of the original design to be too 'insignificant', which is why he decided to extend it by two meters at his own expense. It is the only town hall designed by Berlage and, in terms of shape, resembles a church building or a small castle.
