The Hilversums Wasmeer is a place that is regularly used as a watering hole by the wild animals from this area. The Hilversums Wasmeer has a total area of 31 hectares. It is the most original fen in 't Gooi. The wide open riparian zones house plants that love moisture on the one hand and an acidic, nutrient-poor sandy soil on the other. Examples are the (carnivorous) small sundew, the deep blue bell gentian and the peat fluff, which can be recognized from afar in summer by the white plumes.
