HCQZ of QZ is a hockey club from Nijmegen playing at the sports park Staddijk in the Dukenburg district.
The history of QZ begins when the Nijmegen Ladies Hockey Club Quick was founded on September 1, 1937, as part of the multi-sport association Quick. No official documents from this founding date have been preserved, and the royal approval from the association was only granted to Quick on December 29, 1937. The idea was to offer the ladies of football club Quick 1888 another sport to practice, thereby enhancing the club's camaraderie. As a ladies' hockey club, Quick was successful in the 1940s and 1950s. In 1939, the first women's team made its debut in the First Class East, and in 1942, the first championship of the east could be celebrated. After World War II, the ladies managed to become eastern champions eight more times between 1946 and 1955. In the subsequent promotion competitions for the national championship, Quick consistently had to acknowledge its inferiority to clubs like Amsterdam, Gooische, HHIJC, and BDHC. After this, the results declined, and second place was only achieved a few more times in the First Class East. In 1972, the ladies were relegated from the First Class East. Starting from 1962, a men's section was established at the club, and the name was changed to Mixed Hockey Club Quick. In 1960, Quick moved with the football club from Hazenkampseweg to Dennenstraat, and from 1966 a new complex was opened on Energieweg with its own clubhouse and two pitches. With this last move, the hockey club separated from the multi-sport association as of September 1, 1966. During the club's glory period, Quick had around 400 members, while in the years leading up to the merger, it had only around 200 members. The last complex was located on Weteringweg in the 't Acker neighborhood in the Lindenholt district.
