The Roode Beek Basin is a depression on the northeast side of the plateaus in Dutch South Limburg. The basin was created by erosion of the Roode Beek. Later, loess was deposited at that spot. The area has a slight slope, determined by later formed gentle loess slopes and stream valleys. It extends in the Netherlands from Jabeek and Bingelrade in the northwest, the northeastern half of Brunssum in the south, Schinveld in the middle and part of it in Germany. The Schinveldse Bossen are also located in the basin of the Roode Beek.
