The Roercenter is a shopping arcade that opened in 2003 in Roermond. The shopping center contains, in addition to shops, a parking garage from Q-Park and 28 apartments.
The original plan consisted of a large parking garage to expand parking options in Roermond. However, in the early 90s, the plan was halted because the area had monumental status; some buildings could therefore not be demolished. Later, a new plan emerged, in which the parking garage was reduced in size and a shopping arcade was added. The monumental buildings were incorporated into the plan and received retail and hospitality functions.
