The Borkense baan is a nature reserve in the municipality of Winterswijk. It consists of the former railway line between Winterswijk and Borken, the cross-border section of the Zutphen - Gelsenkirchen-Bismarck railway line built in 1880. Since 1989, the Borkense Baan has been owned by the Dutch Society for the Preservation of Nature and the Geldersch Landschap Foundation. Together with nineteen other nature reserves, it is part of the National Landscape Winterswijk, which was declared by the Dutch government in 2005, an area of almost 22,000 hectares.
